TRAIL MAP:
HIKE DISTANCE: 9 miles
THE HIKE:
Until I arrived I had no idea that the trails would be sheets of ice throughout. The day before was warmer so ice melted then when it dropped into the 20's overnight and never reached above freezing the day I hiked, it was a skating rink. But since these reside in my backpack all winter, I was prepared and it was micro spikes the whole way. Seriously, you can hopscotch on ice with these on. Brodie did pretty well on the ice although he did wipe out a few times.

This hike hit almost all of the trails except the Sussex Branch Rail Trail. |

It always amazes me how a cackling starts, thinking they are barking out orders like "Lou, you take the lead this time. Everybody in my group fall in. Lift off." And those that belong together take off at the exact same time from wherever they are in that group and fly off in perfect formation with no arguing. They just do it. Every single time. |
