HIKE DISTANCE: 11 miles

THE HIKE:
Continuing on from the parking lot to the dam.
Access to the dam through a doorway.
It was disappointing that there was no lake view from the dam, however ...
... there is a view to the outlet on the right ...
... and a few more doorways on the left offer lake views.
Prompton Lake
After crossing the dam, entering Prompton State Park and the trails.
Starting on the yellow Hemlock Trail.  The East Shore Trail would be our return route.
Keeping right following trails along the ridge.  Trails to the left either loop back or connect to the East Shore Trail.
Blue High Ledge Trail
White Sugar Shack North Trail
Balloon #18 of the year.
Green Eagle Pass Trail
Cross Trail (not on the map) connects to the Pine Creek Trail.
Pine Creek
Red Pine Creek Trail
Notice that white dot to the right of the trail?
Balloon #19 of the year.
Staying left to the Cliff Trail.
A rock up over - the rocks were all under water but with waterproof hiking shoes I made it over without getting wet on a 40 degree, very windy day.  Wet feet would not have been good.
At the end of the Cliff Trail, crossing back over Pine Creek.
A picnic table at the waterfalls ...
... makes for a great break spot.
Continuing the descent from the waterfalls, there is an unmarked trail straight down to the East Shore Trail (versus the loopy Sidewinder Trail on the map) but it is not on the map.
Now it's the East Shore Trail all the way back to the dam.
There were more people down at the bottom of the dam than I had seen during the entire hike.
There are four doors and Brodie knew exactly which one would take us back to the car.
Just as I arrived back at the car a bald eagle flew over the lake and landed on the opposite side with dinner.
