HIKE DISTANCE:  7.6 miles

THE HIKE:
With summer half day Fridays at work I wanted to get to Jeff's Organic Produce at the Highland Park Farmer's Market and get a hike in at the same time.  I had not been to the Rutgers University Ecological Preserve since June 2013 .  It is just a couple of miles away from the farmer's market so it warranted another visit.
From parking a short distance in on Johnson Drive, walk back out towards the intersection ...
... cross at the light and veer left.
Just a few steps along River Road is the entrance to the preserve.
There are "YOU ARE HERE" maps at intersections.
I saw this turkey up ahead crossing the trail and approached quietly.
Turns out there were two adults with little toddler turkeys running everywhere but they did not show up in the pictures under all the vegetation.
Here's one!
What a handsome boy!
On the wildlife trail I saw no wildlife, probably because two joggers passed me so anything that might have been there was long gone.
One fork of the green trail leads to a trail head from the Rutgers campus.
I stopped to read the post up ahead ...
... and oh sure, I can do that.
I emailed the photo as instructed and received an autoreply back with a link to the timelapse of photos.  Very cool seeing the seasons changing in the pictures!
There is an accessible trail.
Coming back out at the intersection ...
... and back to where I parked.
