THE HIKE:
After a month in St. Louis, Missouri clearing out my mother's house, heading back home to New Jersey. For day 1 of the drive-and-hike, due to the weather forecast, I had to scrap my original return hiking plans and come up with hikes earlier in the morning before the temps reached into the 80's with high humidity and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
There were so many birds inclucing newly arriving migrants that I put a list at the end.
Not a migrant but the only one I got a picture of: white-throated sparrow.
I have seen more red-headed woodpeckers on this trip than I have in my entire life.
Some careless person left a fishing hook on the picnic table. It is there no more.
Coming up on the end of the trail.
Heading back.
That suicide sign makes me think people have driven their cars off the ramp into the lake?
