It seems they've added a new trail not listed on the map, called "After 5". It was so hot yesterday, and felt I needed a quick exit after visiting O'Conners Reservoir.

The problem was that "After 5" trail (blazed by infrequent pink tree ribbons) ascends about 300 feet, and then connects to the confusing "View Trail". Rock cairns help. But, hopefully in time, better blazes can be painted to help the visitors. Otherwise, It's a real gem, and one I'm proud of checking out.

And next time, I'll skip hiking The Preserve when it exceeds 90 degrees.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16147409616186364348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113668519601172330.post-50441029322022891532014-10-11T19:50:25.818-04:002014-10-11T19:50:25.818-04:00Thanks, Mike. I remember how FREEZING cold and windy it was up there on the Blueberry Trail when I started first thing in the morning!

DanielaGone Hikin'https://www.blogger.com/profile/10297585067127631509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113668519601172330.post-24812436212467299472014-10-11T12:39:39.100-04:002014-10-11T12:39:39.100-04:00Thanks for the great site! Moosic Mountain is only another half hour more of driving. Maybe you'll make it out there someday. It's definitely worth the trip.

DanielaGone Hikin'https://www.blogger.com/profile/10297585067127631509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113668519601172330.post-36094680636386777932012-09-18T11:47:48.791-04:002012-09-18T11:47:48.791-04:00Another awesome hike!! I don't think we will make it that far to hike- but it is one of my favourite ones that I have seen- maybe one day!!

We did the Pa SGL 38 that you posted last week....fabulous hike. Scenery was lovely, loved the open trails and lakes. We did not follow exactly your route- we (myself and 3 dogs) headed out on the main paths(logging trails?) and amazingly we could see them on Google Earth- so we cheated and just made a really nice 3 hr hike following them on the Google- almost as the map you posted.
We also went through an area that hsd been control burned, and was acres and acres of ferns (and a few tree) as far as you could see- almost like a heath land- it reminded me of some parts of England where I grew up.
Thanks for posting it- we will go back to this one again for sure!!Elsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01889996077722227950noreply@blogger.com
