Small parking lot off of East Main Street.  There is room for about 4 cars (equal amount of space opposite side).

HIKE DISTANCE:  2.9 miles

THE HIKE:

Take the white-blazed Patriot's Path from the parking lot.

Paths on the left lead to Dismal Brook

Crossing the bridge over Dismal Brook.

The trail follows along Dismal Brook with many side trail on the right to the brook.

At the first large cairn, the Patriot's Path goes left but keep right on yellow.

Yellow continues to follow along Dismal Brook with more opportunities for nice water views.

Still some blowdowns along the yellow trail but it's possible to get over or around all of them.

Legend Rock at the end of a short side trail.

Cicada holes - no cicadas seen along this route but they could be heard in the distance.

The yellow trail continues around and meets back up with the white-blazed Patriot's Path.

On this hike we were accompanied by Daisy who is staying with us for the week.  She had a great time!

HIKE SUMMARY:
[  0.00]  Take the white-blazed Patriot's Path from the parking lot
[  0.40]  Turn left at the T-intersection
[  0.50]  Turn left to cross bridge over Dismal Brook, then turn right after bridge
[  0.70]  At Y-intersection with large cairn, white goes left, keep right on yellow
[  1.30]  At intersection turn left on yellow
[  1.45]  Turn right at intersection to Legend Rock
[  1.50]  Legend Rock; retrace
[  1.55]  Back at intersection, continue right on yellow
[  1.95]  Yellow ends at the white-blazed Patriot's Path, turn left on white
[  2.10]  Turn right on white when yellow starts to the left (from earlier in the hike)
[  2.30]  Turn left to cross bridge over Dismal Brook, then turn right after bridge
[  2.40]  Turn left at intersection
[  2.85]  Back at parking lot
